Warning over so called Bond

The Hotel was ok, adequate for our needs and very well located. However, when we checked in, staff took an extra £800 from us as a 'Bond' in case we caused any damage. Apparently, this is a policy set out for Foreign travellers, which we were not aware of upon booking. Furthermore, and despite us not causing any damage, we were not refunded our bond upon check-out, on the 2nd April. I have tried to email the Hotel about our refund, (twice), but they have failed to respond. I have set up a complaint with Booking.com who are trying to resolve the issue. We checked out almost 4 weeks ago, and still no refund, but frustrating is that we have not heard from the hotel, very disappointing

Mayra was excellent and helping us get in to our room very quickly! Great service. We were grateful for this as there was an urgent need to get into a room for business reasons. We weren’t sure if that was going to be possible but we were surprised and delighted. Thank you again!

The Embassy suites Chicago, Riverside has a good location. Friendly staff. Nice and decent room. And have a free breakfast. My family stays here from 3/31-4/5/24. Checkin was superb service with the help of Mayra, Alma and Hector. Specially Mayra who’s so accommodating. Definitely will book again in this hotel.

Pros: The location is ideal for accessing, Michigan Ave, State St, and Millennium Park. It's also along the Red Line. The room was clean. Cons: This hotel was not properly staffed for the amount of guests. When we arrived at 5:30pm, the lone desk clerk was overwhelmed. The Hilton app is available for check-in, but the process isn't easy if booking from a 3rd party like Expedia or Hotels.com. Part of the appeal of staying at an Embassy Suites is the complimentary evening beverage service and breakfast. The beverage service was a bust. The line was 25 minutes long, and there was only one person managing the bar. Breakfast was average, but that's expected at place that offers complimentary breakfast. The pool area never had clean towels. The pool itself was too small, and there is limited seating. The hotel is a magnet for families, and most kids want to jump in the pool, but there seemed to be more people in the pool than water. In addition, we had to ask the front desk 3 times before we had any bath towels. One of the most frustrating aspects of the hotel is just moving around. The elevators are exceedingly slow. You can take the stairs, which we did, but you are forced to take the elevator to the parking garage. Our last trip was a 10 minute wait for the elevator. The staircase is filthy...metal stairs with multiple stains and garbage. The stairs are heavily used due to the dysfunctional elevators. Lastly, there was no housekeeping service available during our three day stay. Almost all of these issues can be attributed to not properly staffing for the number of guests. This is a management problem.

80 to park The elevator is in just one area , it is much quicker to take the steps, and if your in a wheelchair i would skip this hotel by far. Pool is small and overcrowded Breakfast was very good, and alot to choose from. The room has 2 tvs but there is a little trick to get them to work.
